Before David incorporated Accounting Evidence Ltd, he was a Partner and the Head of Forensic Services for a Manchester based firm of Chartered Accountants. Prior to that David had many years' experience with accountancy practices of all sizes, ranging from Price Waterhouse & Co (with whom he qualified) to sole practitioners in general practice.

David's particular strength is in criminal litigation, acting as the key expert, at different times, for both prosecution and defence teams in relation to criminal investigations, including allegations under the Theft Act, Fraud Act, Social Security Administration Act, Proceeds of Crime Acts, Companies Acts and Insolvency Act as well as tax evasion and tax credit fraud, evasion of duty, drug trafficking, money laundering, conspiracy and common law offences; related proceeds of crime, confiscation and civil recovery proceedings; and company director disqualification proceedings.

In addition to producing numerous expert witness reports David has given oral evidence as an expert witness in the Crown Court, the High Court and First-Tier Tribunal (Tax Chamber).
